The picture that shouldn't have been taken

She isn't too hot with a camera is my Grandma.
We love her so, but photography is not her strong point.
She was insistent though. A photo of all my family. On the bench. In the lovely grounds of a national trust property.

There she stood, gingerly walking backwards trying to get us all in the frame while we hooted with laughter.
"The camera won't stay still" she howled.
We laughed still harder. "you need to hold it still!" we said.
"You're now on an angle" she bemoaned. We doubled over laughing as my Mum told her that she needed to not only hold the camera still but straight.

"hang on, I've got it" she shouted confidently as she clicked the shutter.
And this is what she captured. This is what she decided was a well framed photo...

  1. Bless her! Maybe she was going for an arty shot ;) At least that would have been my excuse.

  2. Hilarious! She did get you all in the shot though (kind of!) I think this needs to be an annual event. Who knows where the family knees will end up next?

  5. Love it!! It reminds me so much of my Dad and his taking movies of us growing up - no one had heads. :)

  6. Ah! Wonderfully original - as a granny myself, I can tell you that other people's cameras are a law unto themselves! Just look at how it records all those shoes ... :).

  8. Love the shoes :) All of my husband's graduation pictures are like that - he doesn't have a head in any of them!

  10. LOL! My mother was known from taking off parts of people's bodies or having signs shooting out to their heads, so I could relate to this!
