on our walk

The last few weeks have been busy around here. This time of term is clouded with deadlines and essay writing and library sessions.
We have been having some glorious (if cold) weather here recently and it has been good to just stop work sometimes, don the wellies and head out of Durham.

Last weekend we took a new walk, along the river and across the fields.

The views were stunning. I have to remind myself to take my big camera more often rather than just rely on my phone. I love working with these photos far more than any quick instagram ones!

It is so good to share a house with these lovely ladies. Sometimes a walk is just perfect to shake off those library blues. This walk came with a story too. We had planned to head to an old priory nearby. We ended up turning back before we made it. It's a good job too. It turned out the priory was on the other side of the river!

What things did you/do you do to break up work?

What beautiful country---and what beautiful young ladies! The sidewalks and roads here are too icy to walk outside so going to the gym is the only way to get some exercise right now.

If I need a break I grab the dog and we walk down by the river. Great to get out in the fresh air x

There's is nothing like wrapping up warm and getting out in the fresh air to clear the mind and get those good feelings flowing! Lovely countryside in these pictures!

A brisk walk through the woods or an amble along the hill side are both my favourite ways to shake off the cobwebs. Lovely looking countryside.

It's good to see you "getting your head up" as we say round here. Just as we are starting to smell Spring in the air, too

Much as I admire the countryside in your lovely photos, Abi, I just can't stop thinking how beautiful you all are.

Thank you for the reminder about outdoor exercise & fresh air... I must remember this and make the effort to go out! James is buried in books just now - GCSE tests, coursework and revision everywhere he turns. He's already feeling the strain - though a heavy homework schedule isn't helping. He has gone away for the weekend, to a couple of days of workshops & challenges. He loves these weekends and will see friends there & have time to relax (even so, he took some homework!) I hope he feels the benefit!
