Yesterday I packed up that house and headed home for the summer. Back to my family in the south and another precious home.
These are the details I want to remember of our family home...
Light spilling in from the open door.
Passion flower curling up into the porch.
Piles of crocs, abandoned as their owners have walked inside.
Flowers across the garden.
beautiful bright red bricks against a blue sky.
The umbrellas leaning up against the porch.
Dad's slippers, stepped out of on his way to work.
Loose leaf tea, spooned and poured into the tea pot.
This is my challenge for you today. Go grab your favourite camera and wander around your home. Look down, look up, capture what you notice and then record it. Details are so important!
What a lovely challenge ... The corners of your home are beautiful in light and texture.
ReplyDeleteThe sight of all those Crocs made me smile ... I posted about Crocs a few years ago: http://suburbansahm.blogspot.co.uk/2011/06/crocs.html
ReplyDeleteLoved seeing the details around your home, Abi. Welcome home for the summer ~ I hope it's wonderful for you! xo
ReplyDeleteYou have captured such beautiful, small details. I am inspired to grab my camera too :) Thankyou f
ReplyDeleteI was thinking about this the other day so maybe now this gives me the incentive. Beautiful home x
ReplyDeleteThe details are indeed important, and you've captured some special ones of your lovely home.
ReplyDeleteOh, how right you are. I wish I had pictures of our student house, and more pictures of home when I was a teenager: all the details, mess and all
ReplyDeleteWhat a great challenge. I know I've captured many of the details on my blog over the years but not all in one place.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter just inherited my old camera. Maybe I'll give her this challenge, too.

Just fabulous Abi! I love capturing the little details and your photos are so great :) You've inspired me to give this challenge a go during the coming week x
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely idea Abi. I'll give it a go. So glad you are home for a break.
ReplyDeleteI really do not take enough photos without people in them! I love yours! They convey so much life without having a single person in them! So inspiring!
ReplyDeleteYour not-so-new-now family home looks so lovely Abi! Nice to get a tiny glimpse of inside, as well as the previous pictures of the pretty outside.
ReplyDeleteIt looks cosy and welcoming in your house - just the place for your summer break. Enjoy yourself! X
What a great challenge Abi. I think though I need to do a big cleanup (seems since John retired things have slipped in the housekeeping department in a major way) before I'll take those pictures.
